A week or so ago I cut the cable
with Time Warner, except for the internet modem, of course. I
had an existing 40-ft tower at my house.
Chester
Electronic Supply recommended this setup, twin Winegard HD-8800
UHF Antennae on a new 10-ft mast, one pointed 355 degrees north and
one pointed 167 degrees south. Then Rich came over with his
boom truck and hoisted it up.
END RESULT = 107 HD digital
channels!
TOTAL COST = $326
NOTE: Some of the channels
are duplicate, ABC, NBC and CBS, one each from Chicago and
Milwaukee, which are USUALLY the same except for local news and
sporting events. Also, most TV stations have sub-channels like
10.1, 10.2, 10.3, etc.

35-year old Channel Master
antenna with rotor.
It still worked, sort of. It made some very unusual sounds
during rotation!
The channels I got were great, but I only picked up 8 or 10 out of
Milwaukee and 2 out of Chicago.
The new system
picks up 107 HD digital channels with no rotor!
